Kazuchika Okada Talks Ibushi Match At Wrestle Kingdom 14, What Makes NJPW The Best

Kazuchika Okada recently sat down with New Japan Pro-Wrestling to discuss a handful of topics, including his upcoming match against Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 14, the significance of it, and why he thinks NJPW is still the best in the world.

Check out some of the highlights below:

On the significance of his upcoming match:

Simply put, the Tokyo Dome event is the biggest wrestling event from the biggest Japanese wrestling company. When you talk about the scale, it’s true that there are bigger events by an American company, but when we talk about the size of the fight, that makes ours the biggest. I am the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, and Ibushi is the G1 winner. So, two champions will collide. Truthfully, people will witness a very special match.

On Wrestle Kingdom 14 being the world’s biggest event:

It’s the level of quality of all the wrestlers. If you watch our matches, it’s clear how great our wrestlers are. Our wrestlers make you think, “Can he really do it? Can he continue?” Even if you watch pro-wrestling from all over the world, nothing beats New Japan.

On why NJPW is still the best:

I also think American pro-wrestling is greta, and there are fans of all styles, but I believe that New Japan has the best matches, when it comes to intensity and technique.
