Finn Balor’s arrival on NXT brought with it a promise that he would one day be challenging Adam Cole for the NXT Championship. During tonight’s episode of NXT, Balor made good on that, as he was able to defeat both Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa in a Triple Threat match to become the number one contender for the title, setting up a huge match next week.
During the triple threat match, things got incredibly chaotic, but it was Balor who capitalized en route to the win. After Keith Lee landed a huge slam to Ciampa, Balor – who was waiting on the top rope – jumped off, kicking Keith in the chest and quickly pinning him for the win. Now, Balor will take on Adam Cole next week with a chance to capture the NXT Championship.
