This past weekend saw a lot of huge performances by WWE and NXT talent, but Bully Ray believes the weekend belong to Rhea Ripley. The former NXT UK Women’s Champion won at both NXT TakeOver: WarGames and Survivor Series. He explained why this was so huge on Busted Open Radio.
“They put Rhea over,” exclaimed Bully Ray. “I think it’s the right decision. That woman is a star and will be as big of a star as WWE will let her and they should let her be a huge star because she’s a homegrown WWE talent. The sky is a limit with her look, her stature, her ability, and she’s only going to get better working with better people.”
However, he did have one nitpick about her Survivor Series win. “Last night she was in the ring to end that match with one of the best in Sasha Banks and she gets the 1-2-3 on Sasha. I didn’t love the way they went about it, though. I would have liked to seen Rhea win clean. Here’s my reasoning – did Rhea Ripley pin Charlotte Flair clean on SmackDown? [Yes.] … That is as clean as clean gets and does wonders for Rhea, you could have done the same thing.”
