Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair kickstarted Wednesday’s episode of NXT with a big match, as both superstars looked to stake their claim as the best competition to Shayna Baszler. Despite some late interference from Io Shirai, Ripley was the one who came out on top, taking down Belair after a chaotic finish to the match.

Towards the end of their match, Ripley found herself outside of the ring, when Io Shirai came running down and delivered a 619 to Ripley. While Shirai thought that this would have ended the match, Ripley was able to keep things going, forcing Shirai to try once again to interfere. However, as she attempted to distract the referee, Candice LeRae came running down, pulling Shirai off the mat and stopping any of the shenanigans.

After that, Ripely was able to counter Belair and drop her for the victory. Despite the finish, it’s clear that these superstars are not done with each other, as many are looking to become the new number one contender to Shayna Baszler’s title.
