AAA’s La Parka & Shil-Kah Taken To Hospital After Doing Topes

There was a AAA show last night in Monterrey, MX and there is footage going around of AAA’s La Parka doing a suicide dive onto the outside, but he takes a scary fall while doing it. It’s also being reported that Shil-Kah, another luchadore, also did a tope and looked to be badly injured while doing the spot.

According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on the latest “Wrestling Observer Radio” La Parka was taken to the hospital and initially couldn’t feel his legs, but it has regained feeling since then. Vic Martz of UAM Radio 94.1 is reporting that Shil-Kah is doing fine and told him so after leaving nursing.

It should be noted that this is AAA’s La Parka and not the LA Park that American fans are familiar who currently wrestles for MLW and was the same performer during WCW’s heyday.

Kassius Ohno went on Twitter to talk of the risk involved with doing such maneuvers and how both fans and wrestlers shouldn’t take them lightly when they are performed:

I don’t recommend seeking out the footage of these two dives. Spine-chilling, quite literally Wrestlers & fans alike take heed- however easy & routine these death defying maneuvers appear to be, they are just that: DEATH DEFYING They have the potential to change careers & LIVES

Guys & girls, please weigh risk versus reward & don’t take for granted a second of preparation. To those watching from afar, please recognize the gravity of what is being risked essentially for your entertainment. Have fun, be safe & don’t take these things too lightly.

At the end of the day, 99.9% of the time, it’s our choice & we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to make that choice. I would just encourage us all to remember that each decision is perilous & there’s a real human behind every action that we’re fortunate enough to witness.

We at WrestleZone wish both La Parka and Shil-Kah both a healthy and speedy recovery.
