Shinsuke Nakamura and Roman Reigns opened Friday’s episode of WWE Friday SmackDown, taking each other on for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. In what was quickly becoming an incredible match between both superstars, Baron Corbin – still donning his King of the Ring crown – interrupted things, attacking Reigns and causing the match to end in a disqualification.
After knocking Reigns down with a scepter, Corbin then spent a minute or two assaulting him in the ring. However, Daniel Bryan quickly came to Reigns’ rescue, jumping into the ring and taking down Corbin before delivering a flying kick to Nakamura as well. As Bryan looked to continue his defense of Reigns, Sami Zayn grabbed Bryan from outside of the ring, allowing Nakamura to deliver a kick to Bryans’s head. As Corbin, Nakamura, and Zayn escaped, Reigns and Bryan were left recovering in the ring.
