With the recent commentary shakeups on both RAW and SmackDown, a few familiar faces were taken off TV for the first time in a while. With new voices arriving on RAW and the established RAW team heading to SmackDown, both Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton are now without a regular gig.

While Saxton hasn’t popped up again since the shakeup, an eagle-eyed WWE UK fan spotted Tom Phillips calling the action alongside Nigel McGuinness during today’s NXT UK TV taping in Brentwood.

This would mean that Phillips is replacing Vic Joseph, who is now on RAW alongside Jerry Lawler and Dio Maddin. Tom Phillips has NXT experience, as he was their main play by play announcer from 2014 to 2017, where he was replaced by Mauro Ranallo.
