Shortly after The Undisputed Era’s Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly took down The Street Profits to retain their NXT Tag Team Championships, the NXT universe got a big surprise. As Adam Cole came out to celebrate with his friends, the familiar music of Tommaso Ciampa sounded, and the former NXT Champion emerged from backstage, staring down Cole.
It was clear from Ciampa’s face and attitude that he wasn’t there for pleasure, and he quickly stared down Cole, who did his part to keep things tense. With Ciampa now likely back in the mix of NXT, it will be interesting to see just how long it takes for him to once again be in title contention after he was forced to relinquish the belt due to injury.
