EVOLVE 135 Results: Walter, Kassius Ohno and Austin Theory In Action

Evolve 135 took place this past Friday night in Brooklyn, New York. Outside of the usual Evolve action, several NXT regulars made their presence felt. Here’s what went down at the Saint Finbar Catholic Church Gym.

  • KC Navarro pinned Anthony Henry after Henry laid down in the ring instantly. Henry sucker-punched Navarro after the match and hit a Drill Bit and a diving double stomp.
  • Avery Taylor pinned Alex Gracia in a match also featuring Vanity, Natalia Markova, Shotzi Blackheart, and Brandon Lauren.

  • Arturo Ruas pinned John Silver with a spin kick. Anthony Gutierrez taunted Ruas after the match.
  • Curt Stallion pinned Daniel Garcia in an Evolution’s Edge Tournament elimination match also involving Anthony Gutierrez and Karam.
  • Babatunde defeated EVOLVE Champion Austin Theory via DQ. Theory initially tried to abandon the match, but several wrestlers blocked his path. Eddie Kingston, Joe Gacy, and Donovan attacked Babtunde just as we was going to get the pin, causing the DQ.

  • Liam Gray and EVOLVE Tag Team Champions AR Fox and Leon Ruff defended their gold against Eddie Kingston, Joe Gacy, and Donovan. AR Fox got the winning pin with a 450 splash on Eddie Kingston
  • Harlem Bravado defeated Adrian Alanis with a modified pedigree in a match where his career was on the line
  • Anthony Greene comes out victorious in the second Evolution’s Edge Tournament elimination match of the night. He last eliminated Sean Maluta and also picked up the victory against Brandon Taggart.
  • Kassius Ohno hit the Hero’s Welcome on Josh Briggs for the 123. Austin Theory attacked Briggs after the match, leaving Ohno as the odd man out of the encounter.
  • WALTER defeated JD Drake with a short-arm clothesline.
