More Details On Changes Made To RAW & SmackDown Live’s Creative Team

As we’ve recently noted, some changes have been made to the RAW and SmackDown Live creative teams as of late. A recent report from The Wrap sheds more light on the situation.

The report suggests the shakeup is being done due to “a perceived lack of direction at” SmackDown Live. This is quite the concern given the blue brand is a few weeks out from making its big move over to FOX. There’s a lot of pressure on the SmackDown Live creative team with the new billion-dollar deal.

Also, the report includes that the creative moves come amid growing questions about Eric Bischoff’s leadership of the show. The report’s source cited Bischoff’s decision to hire former “Sons of Anarchy” writer Stevie Long. Long was apparently found asleep in the writer’s room by Michael P.S. Hayes on his first day on the road with WWE. For context, Long is still employed by WWE.

The creative team has also come under a lot of fire for their handling of the Roman Reigns attacker storyline, which the insider notes was  “botched so bad” that “explaining to anyone what it was supposed to be wouldn’t make any sense at all.”
