Jungle Boy On Being Paired With Marko Stunt, If There’s Pressure To Be A WWE Alternative

Jungle Boy spoke with the media at Starrcast in Chicago and says he hopes people who aren’t familiar with his character will see it for what it is and have fun.

“In a way, the whole Jungle Boy character, it is me but it’s separate from me. I try to keep it separate from my personal life. I think in a way, you just have to watch it. Hopefully, what I’m doing will just kind of explain itself. I’m here to entertain people, want them to have a good time. Just check it out, I think you’ll like it.”

When asked how important it is to going to AEW with a faction of guys like Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt, Jungle Boy said the trios idea was something pitched to him, but they are similar in a lot of ways, especially himself and Stunt. He said it feels like they are natural partners, and they’re not only unique, but “in a very good headspace, and we’re moving forward with some cool ideas that I’m looking forward to sharing with you guys.”

When asked if he feels pressure to be the alternative to WWE, Jungle Boy said it’s not something he thinks about much. He noted that talent like himself and Stunt are already different, so there’s not really a need to push to be different.

“For me, I don’t really think about it that much. We’ve done a lot of interviews and they always ask about WWE, and the thing I think is, this right here wouldn’t be happening right now if people were necessarily content with what WWE is putting out. I think, already, what we’re doing is something different for people to see. At least for me, I’m not thinking about being different from that because we already are. I’ve talked about this with Marko Stunt a bit, but we’re guys who wouldn’t be taken seriously in the WWE at all. We’re not huge guys, we’re pretty young. So we’re just here having fun, doing our own thing.”
