Braun Strowman Gets Controversially Disqualified, AJ Styles Retains WWE United States Championship

WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Braun Strowman continued his rivalry with WWE United States Champion AJ Styles on RAW this week. Styles defended his championship against Strowman in the main event of the show and the O.C. were barred from ringside. Strowman lost the match via disqualification but he attacked the O.C. after the match.

Strowman quickly dumped Styles to the outside and trucked over him twice. The United States Champion went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Strowman countered with a chokeslam. A big boot knocked Styles to the outside. Styles targeted Strowman’s leg to slow the big man down. The Phenomenal One took control and a springboard moonsault gave him a near fall. Styles locked in a Calf Crusher but Strowman fought his way out of it. The Monster Among Men trucked over Styles two more times but Styles sent him shoulder-first into the ring post.

Strowman inadvertently knocked the referee to the outside. With the referee down, Styles raked the big man in the eyes before kicking him below the belt. Styles hit Strowman with a steel chair but Strowman slammed the champion. The referee couldn’t make the count and the O.C. attacked Strowman. The big man fought them off with a steel chair  but the referee disqualified him because he was holding a steel chair over a downed Styles. After the bell rang, Strowman attacked all three members of the O.C. and slammed Styles. Strowman held up the WWE United States Championship to close the show.
