NXT Champion Adam Cole isn’t shying away from talking about All Elite Wrestling. During today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Cole opened up comparisons between the two and talked about what an exciting time this is for wrestling.
“One of the coolest things for me is seeing the growth of the brand as time has gone on,” said Cole. “Even when I got here a little over two years ago [there have been] month by month slowly but surely little things have continued to grow or more and more people have checked it out. I’m incredibly proud of our team. I stand by the fact that bell-to-bell, NXT puts on the best shows in the planet. To now get a chance to do that on such a huge stage weekly on USA Network, two hours live every week, it’s exciting.”
When asked by Mark Henry about going up against All Elite Wrestling, Cole was excited by the challenge. “There’s no question there will be a lot of comparisons,” said Cole. “Obviously, we’re going live at the same exact time and there’s these new Wednesday Night Wars that people are calling it, but NXT did get to the USA Network based upon the work in NXT. I’ve been hearing for weeks and weeks and weeks that NXT is the third brand and now we have a chance to prove it on USA Network. For me, it creates such an exciting situation for wrestling fans. There are so many different options that people can watch … so as a fan and a wrestler … it’s never been a more exciting time. It’s unbelievable.”
