Cody Rhodes: ‘Wrestling Fans Now Have A Choice, and I Hope They Choose Us’

Talking with Bleacher Report, AEW executive vice president Cody Rhodes comments on WWE moving NXT onto Wednesday nights to compete with their new TV broadcast. “The best wrestling is going to be happening on Wednesday nights. It’s destination TV, and when’s the last time wrestling was destination TV? It’s now must-watch, and I’m not going to complain about that…Wrestling fans now have a choice, and I hope they choose us.”

Cody acknowledges the history his family has with NXT, and he has nothing but curiosity in regards to WWE positioning it against his own All Elite Wrestling. “My dad was instrumental in building the NXT brand. For a long time, It had been a developmental project. For Vince to now bring it to the USA Network as if it’s a full brand, I’m just intrigued by it.”

NXT premieres on Wednesday nights on September 18. AEW’s All Out show will air at the end of this month, and their weekly TV program will begin on TNT on October 2.
