WWE is gearing up for the upcoming Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter some backstage details about this show including match. As expected, Randy Orton will once again be challenging WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.
Also on tap is Sasha Banks vs. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch following the angle that was done on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Toronto, Ontario.
It was reported earlier this week that the current plan for the main event to be Braun Strowman vs. WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins. It was noted that SmackDown writers have pitched The Revival vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Big E and Xavier Woods for the show. However, Vince McMahon has not approved the match to be added to the card yet.
The belief is that Ali vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan will also be added to the card.
The finals of the WWE King of the Ring tournament will also take place at the pay-per-view.
WWE holds this year’s event on September 15 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
