When Kota Ibushi pinned Jay White on Monday, not only did he win the G1 Climax, he became the first wrestler in New Japan Pro-Wrestling history to win the Best of Super Juniors tournament, the New Japan Cup, and the G1 Climax.

The three tournaments are the marquee contests in NJPW, and because they span different weight divisions, it has been very hard for a wrestler to win all three. Ibushi won the 2011 Best of Super Juniors, the 2015 New Japan Cup, and now the 2019 G1 Climax.

Ibushi has the right to challenge for any title in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 14 on January 4th. There is no word on who he will challenge.

UPDATE: In the post match press conference, Kota Ibushi mentioned that he’d like to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom, but no match has been signed.
