Becky Lynch Disarms Natalya, Retains WWE RAW Women’s Championship

To open WWE SummerSlam 2019, Becky Lynch defended her WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Natalya in a submission match. Going into the show, the relationship between the two women quickly devolved into a bitter rivalry. After a hard-fought match, Lynch made Natalya tap to the Disarm-Her.

Their animosity for each other was clear as they brawled around ringside early in the match. After targeting Lynch’s leg, Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter while she was sitting on the top rope. Lynch escaped the hold but the damage was clearly done. Lynch desperately used the steel steps to gain some momentum; she sent Natalya shoulder-first into the steel. But the challenger planted the champion with a superplex to regain control of the match. Lynch stole the Sharpshooter and locked Natalya into the famous submission hold but it wasn’t enough to win the match. Natalya returned the favor and put Lynch in the Disarm-Her but the champion escaped. The challenger put Lynch in the Sharpshooter but Lynch eventually reversed it into the Disarm-Her and Natalya had no choice but to tap.
