In the first match on the WWE SummerSlam Kickoff, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak defended his championship against Oney Lorgan. The challenger won his spot in the match by defeating Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Akira Tozawa, Kalisto and Jack Gallagher in a Six-Pack Challenge on WWE 205 Live this past Tuesday. Lorcan put up a valiant effort but Gulak won with a Cyclone Crash.

Gulak dropkicks Lorcan as soon as the bell rings. Gulak puts Lorcan in a top wrist lock. Gulak and Lorcan trade submission attempts. Lorcan unloads on Gulak with chop after chop. Gulak responds with a nasty European uppercut. Gulak bodyslam Lorcan into the corner. Lorcan surprised Gulak with a running blockbuster. Gulak kicks out. Gulak rolls out of the ring. Lorcan destroys Gulak with multiple knife edge chops. Lorcan brings Gulak into the ring. Gulak goes behind Lorcan and locks in the Gu-lock. Lorcan gets his foot on the rope. Lorcan and Gulak trade strikes. Gulak puts Lorcan in the Gu-lock. Lorcan turns it into a pin. Gulak kicks out. Lorcan lands three running European uppercuts. Gulak punches Lorcan in the throat. Gulak lands the Cyclone Crash for the win.
