Velveteen Dream Retains North American Title In Thrilling Triple Threat

The Velveteen Dream came into NXT TakeOver: Toronto with a tough task, as he had to find a way to somehow retain his belt in a triple threat match against both Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong. While Dream is known for his confidence, it would still be a surprise that he managed to come away with a win, but he did just that. Not only did Dream manage to somehow win, it came down to the very last second for Dream to do so.

Towards the end an incredible triple threat match, it looked like Dream had Pete Dunne absolutely down and out. After landing the Dream Valley Driver on Dunne, however, Dream was quickly thrown out of the ring by Strong, who then landed the End of Heartache on Dunne to further keep him down. As Strong went for the pin, however, Dream landed a Purple Rainmaker from the top rope, breaking the pin and landing on Dunne for his own pin to retain his NXT North American Championship.
