Io Shirai made a huge statement tonight at NXT TakeOver Toronto, taking down Candice LeRae in a match that showed just how far Shira is willing to go to win. Although the match was an incredible back-and-forth between the two superstars, LeRae looked like she didn’t stand much of a chance as things contained on. After pummeling LeRae for most of the match, Shirai seemed to be at her wits end as she looked for ways to win.
After delivering a series of punches to LeRae while on the ground, Shirai nearly lost after being pulled into a pin. However, after a moonsault and another series of punches, Shirai locked LeRae into a viscous looking submission that left LeRae no choice but to tap out. After the victory, Shirai celebrated in the ring, ecstatic at another victory that she had claimed.
