Women’s Tag Title Match On RAW Reportedly A Paul Heyman Move

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the decision to have the Women Tag Team Titles match occur on RAW was a Paul Heyman choice.

According to Meltzer in the latest Observer Newsletter, pulling the match from the SummerSlam card to be on RAW this past Monday in Pittsburgh was said to be a move by Heyman. Meltzer speculates that the reasoning behind it could be to give the match more of an opportunity to shine in the main event of RAW then to rather get lost in the shuffle of the many matches of SummerSlam.

Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss ended up becoming the new Women’s Tag Team Champions after The IIconics were the first team to be eliminated, followed by Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose and the finalizing the match with a pinfall against Asuka and Kairi Sane. Meltzer also states that The Kabuki Warriors were also once being groomed for the belts not that long ago.
