WWE Plans To Adhere To Brand Split After SmackDown Goes To FOX

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the current plan for right now is for WWE to adhere to a complete brand split once SmackDown makes its way over to FOX in October.

WWE has been fast and loose with its brand rosters after “Wild Card Rule” was introduced post-WrestleMania, but the plan appears to be that the company will have it’s own separate rosters on their own separate networks. Meltzer speculates that all could change if ratings don’t come in, but as of right now, the plan is to move forward with separate brands once the leap to FOX occurs.

“The Wild Card Rule” went from only three talents being able to appear on an opposing brand, to four (in the same night) and eventually devolved into talent appearing without any head count and with no utterance of the words “wild” and “card.”
