SmackDown Live was recently in Memphis this week, and as someone who has a history with the city, R-Truth sat down with WMC5 News to discuss his favorite barbecue spots and what it’s like contending for the WWE 24/7 Championship. He was joined by Carmella, who also made sure to give in her favorite food spot.
Truth acknowledged that not only is Memphis the “heart of wrestling,” but it’s also a place that has some of his favorite food, even if he’s not supposed to eat too much of it. “I’ve kind of changed my diet, but in my diet rulebook, on section 5 paragraph A, there’s a cheating plan. So, Corky’s BBQ is one of my favorite spots to go to.”
Carmella chimed in on the topic of places to visit, although her choice was much more health-oriented. “I always try to go to Bedrock Cafe when I’m here,” she said. “I love it. They have great protein waffles and great coffee, so I’m going to hit that place up after.” she said.
When asked about what his plans are for getting back the 24/7 title, which he lost on Monday night, Truth says he has some plans, but won’t divulge on them too much. “Mikey’s wife Maria has it. So we got to find Maria,” R-Truth said. “We’ll talk about it. We can’t let anybody know because the story with the 48/7 I-95 TV European Championship is like this: That title can be defended any time.”
Truth knows that becoming the 24/7 champion is something that carries lots of risks, as Truth has already defended his belt across a variety of places. Now, he’ll look to once again win back his belt, and begin a new reign.
