It was made official last night on WWE SmackDown Live that Trish Stratus will be taking on Charlotte Flair at WWE SummerSlam in less two weeks. The WWE Hall of Famer had a few sharp words to say to her opponent in a post-show interview:
Trish Stratus on if she’s had a chance to process her new match:
“No, I was literally at the cottage with my children running on the beach with the sand between our toes and then I’m facing Charlotte Flair at Summer Slam in two weeks. I was saying to Jerry out there, it’s in my blood, it’s in my heart, in my soul and I know that’s why I can pull this off.”
On facing her in her hometown of Toronto, Canada:
“It feels a little full circle. I mean I retired in Toronto. I mean this match feels so important to me. Charlotte said some stuff that I think she’s forgetting a lot of the work we did back in the day was for what the girls are doing now and we sit back and we watch it and God, do we wish we can be a part of it so much. So it means a lot to sort of just remind her who the queen of queens is.”
On how she will mentally and physically prepare for her return match:
“I’m doing nothing, I’m showing up. I’m ready right now. Stratusfaction guaranteed. Out.”
