Brie Bella On Questioning The Timing Of Her Pregnancy, Talks Losing Her Identity And Bouts With Depression

Brie Bella went into detail about her pregnancy and depression on the latest episode of The Bellas Podcast. Brie revealed during the podcast that she had issues with depression and finding her identity after the birth of her and WWE superstar Daniel Bryan’s child, Birdie.

Brie said that she lost her identity after Birdie was born because she could not separate herself from the person she was before the pregnancy. Specifically, watching the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was hard. Brie said: “I’ve worked over a decade, and I worked so hard for that. I wanted to be part of that. It was like the day I got pregnant. All of a sudden the women were starting to make history. They were giving them longer matches, they were doing bigger things, and I just remember feeling so bad.”

Brie mentioned that she often questions the timing of the decision to become a parent and that it had created some identity issues. Bella’s failed comeback was met with harsh criticism online from fans. She says,  “It made me realize, ‘Brie, the old you is gone. You gotta really figure out who you are today.’” Bella took the assistance of a life coach to regain her identity.

Bella said:,“Anyone out there who struggles with depression or does go through some hard times or feels a little lost, whether it’s with your identity or just with bullying, reach out to someone.”
