Day two of San Diego Comic Con wrapped up with a few surprises from the Mattel WWE team! We got to see the following as well as learn about the following:

Elites

  • Buddy Murphy Elite Prototype
  • Rey Mysterio (modern) Elite Prototype
  • Becky Lynch Elite Prototype

Masters of the WWE Universe

  • Series 1
  • Mint on Card Triple H
  • Comic Book included with each figure
  • Ring with Triple H and John Cena
  • Man-E-Faces featuring Big E, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods

Other Information:

  • Battle Packs will come with accessories again starting in 2020
  • Target will see the return of the Network Spotlight Elite Series in the Fall featuring:
    • Jinder Mahal
    • Rey Mysterio (Flashback in blue/yellow)
    • Asuka
    • Diesel
  • Paige will be a part of the main Elite line as the Walgreens series was cancelled
  • Walmart will have the Survivor Series Elite set in Fall 2019 featuring:
    • Don Muraco
    • Jeff Hardy
    • Alicia Fox
    • Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Elite Jeff Hardy will have three swappable heads as well as his towel on his pants
  • Elite 71 Drew McIntyre will have swappable heads – one with hair in his face and out of his face
  • WWE Retros are on hiatus until further notice
  • Mattel does not have the rights to make Hulk Hogan still
  • Female figures will have double jointed knees and wrist/hand joints plus swappable hands soon
  • Chyna will have multiple figures
  • Ric Flair will be in Ultimate Edition Series 5 along with Becky Lynch

Matt has enjoyed collecting wrestling action figures since he was very young. He enjoys recreating popular wrestling moments in action figure form via wrestling figure photography as seen on his popular and respected Instagram, mbg1211 , which has led to his growing success on social media over the years.
