Austin Theory Wins The ‘Winner Take All’ Match At EVOLVE 10th Anniversary

Austin Theory is the new WWN Champion and keeps his EVOLVE Championship after beating JD Drake at EVOLVE’s 10th Anniversary show in Philadelphia tonight. This is Theory’s first run with the WWN Championship; Drake’s lone title reign ends at 258 days. Check out a full recap of the match from our live coverage page below:

EVOLVE Champion Austin Theory vs. WWN Champion JD Drake

Theory goes right on the attack and kicks Drake near the ropes, then Theory continues to taunt Drake as he strikes him near the ropes. Theory tells him to ‘tell another sad story’ as he hits him in the back, then Drake makes a comeback and knocks Theory back with a right hand. Drake ends up hitting a tope suicida on the floor, then he rolls Theory back in and slams him down before heading up top. Drake hits a Vader Bomb for two, then he connects with a lariat but comes up empty on a cannonball. Theory connects with a blockbuster for two, then he attacks Drake some more before saying Drake’s kids are going to watch him on TV. Drake gets caught with a boot to the face, but he comes right back with a Stunner and a cannonball, then hits a Drill Bit for a two count. Drake heads up top and hits a moonsault and still only gets a two count, then Theory comes back with a superkick and goes for a suplex, but Drake tackles him and goes back up top for a moonsault. Theory rolls out of the way and hits several superkicks, then hits the Ataxia ‘rolling package Flatliner) for the win.

Theory cuts a post-match promo and says everyone’s going to fight to get to EVOLVE and they’ll chase their dreams, but the EVOLVE Championship symbolizes they need to go through him. He calls himself the measuring stick of EVOLVE and a real superstar… then the lights go out. Josh Briggs is shown standing behind him when the lights come back up, and Briggs chokeslams him and poses with the title.
