Randy Orton Reportedly Working Through Minor Neck Injury

Randy Orton is reportedly dealing with a minor neck injury, but it shouldn’t keep him sidelined for an extended amount of time.

According to a report by Fightful.com, Orton jammed his neck up in a match against Aleister Black last month, but the injury was not believed to be serious. It was noted that Orton already had some vacation time, and he was also given off an additional two weeks just to rest up before making his return, noting there were no immediate plans for him on TV.

Orton has been absent from WWE TV since June 7, where he defeated Triple H at WWE Super Showdown. He made his live event return this past Sunday in Glen Falls, New York, where he lost to Black, his opponent the following night as well.

Orton has dealt with neck and shoulder issues in his career, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said Orton was previously told by a doctor he’d need surgery, but later got a second opinion. They also confirmed Fightful’s report, noting that Orton had been working with a “sore and stiff neck.”
