James Storm Wins The NWA National Heavyweight Championship

The NWA uploaded the following video featuring James Storm’s NWA National Championship win over Colt Cabana.

Storm won the title at the Ring Of Honor television tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on June 29; the NWA just premiered the match on their YouTube channel. During the show, Cabana came out to give a health update on his injured knee when Storm interrupted. Colt said he’s hurt and already tried to give Storm extra time, but Storm said that’s why he’s here. Storm said he wants five more minutes and eventually talked Colt into the match after kicking his cane out and shoving him.

The first time James Storm vs. Colt Cabana for the NWA National Title happened it went to a fifteen minute time limit draw. Colt Cabana offered James Storm five more minutes. It was in that moment that the Briscoes attacked Colt Cabana. Weeks later, Cabana would suffer an injury to his leg which caused him to have to pull out of the ROH Best in the World tag team match where he was scheduled to team with Nick Aldis to face The Briscoes. This segment was recorded the night after ROH Best in the World where Colt Cabana was scheduled to give an update on his condition. Things rapidly escalated when James Storm walked into Philadelphia, PA with a referee.
