Charlotte Flair Comments On Paul Heyman & Eric Bischoff’s New WWE Roles

WWE star Charlotte Flair was recently interviewed by My San Antonio to promote tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live. Flair discussed setting her sights on Bayley and the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship, Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff’s new roles as Creative Directors of RAW and SmackDown, and SmackDown Live moving from USA Network to FOX in October.

Here are the highlights:

Setting her sights on Bayley and the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship:

I wrestled her all weekend in Jackson, Miss., and Monroe, La. She still has my title and that is that. Alexa Bliss is the number one contender, but obviously I got title matches all weekend just because I said I wanted a title match, so it doesn’t change anything for me. When I want one, I go to management and say, ‘I want a title match,’ and then I get a title match.

Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff’s new roles as Creative Directors of RAW and SmackDown:

I think it is great, and they are both very talented men with creative minds, but we have so many writers and people that work with us on creative. It is exciting, but it is doesn’t change my role. However, having two people that have been a part of the industry for so long and seen the changes and been with different companies and back, I think that it adds a lot to them being really good in that role and helps bring new stories.

SmackDown Live moving from USA Network to FOX:

It is a huge opportunity for us, reaching a whole different audience. Especially being on Fox, it adds a level of legitimacy to the industry, since it is known as a sports channel.

The move on Friday nights is going to be huge, too, moving to the weekend and then adding competition. It’s USA versus Fox. I know it is the same company, but whoever is on Smackdown is going to be better than Raw, and whoever is on Raw will want to be better than Smackdown.
