If last night’s episode of RAW wasn’t any clear indication of Paul Heyman‘s fingerprints on the product, Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch is reporting that Heyman’s presence was fully embedded backstage throughout the entire show.
According to Keller, Heyman was indeed in Gorilla side by side by Vince McMahon the entire evening and that there wasn’t a sign of combativeness, but a cohesive understanding between the two. Much of that was exemplified through the product as we saw McMahon influenced elements along with newer infused angles that spoke Heyman’s language.
Keller went on to give his take to the product with analyzing all the segments and matches that took place last night to kick off the “Heyman Era” of Monday Night RAW by noting aforementioned Heyman elements that were brought into the show. He praised the product for not touting and flaunting a change, but instead showing the fans a significantly different type of product through subtle changes of importance, such as talent referencing the Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley angle throughout the evening. Keller also states that according to his sources, Heyman has garnered and cultivated a lot of goodwill among the talent backstage throughout his time as an on-air talent.
