Kofi Kingston recently joined Sacramento’s FOX40 to discuss a variety of SmackDown Live related news, including the return of Big E and what the New Day’s ultimate goals as a group are.
With SmackDown Live taking place in the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento tonight, and it will feature the New Day making their return to the ring as a trio, as Big E will be ready to go. “He’s back officially in the ring tonight, so it’s a big deal,” Kingston said. “Everybody loves Big E … it’s going to be awesome.”
Kingston was then asked what the differences are performing alone instead of performing as a group. According to the WWE Champion, it’s not too different thanks to how close they are. “They’re always with me, oftentimes they’re at ringside with me too,” he said. “But this was always the goal, we worked so hard as a team to be established as a team on television. But then we all wanted to make sure we had individual success, too.”
Kingston also touched on what it means to be a role model for kids, and how he grew up wanting to be a WWE superstar, so his entire career arc is a huge dream come true. Kingston and the rest of the New Day will surely be excited to get back into the ring as a group, especially after how long they’ve been out of it together.
