More Details On Eli Drake’s Free Agency, IMPACT Departure

Eli Drake announced yesterday that he is officially a free agent now following his release from IMPACT Wrestling. PWInsider.com reports Drake’s departure came after a settlement reached between the two sides regarding his termination and non-compete clause.

Drake was originally set to have his contract expire on May 31st, but was ultimately terminated by IMPACT on April 7th. It was later reported that a number of issues led to the company firing Drake, including his public remarks about his refusal to work an intergender match with Tessa Blanchard.

Sources have confirmed that with the settlement, Drake is now clear to sign anywhere he chooses. One executive from IMPACT was cited as saying “We are happy to have the issue resolved and we wish Eli Drake well going forward.”

Drake is now taking independent bookings, and is set to appear next weekend for Championship Wrestling From Hollywood on Father’s Day. In a previously advertised match, Drake will face off with TV Champion Scorpio Sky and Eric Watts in a triple threat.
