Last week, Rey Mysterio launched a new campaign to help support awareness of autism. The campaign had an initial ‘teaser’ launch last Sunday, and the live campaign is now running through the end of June. In addition, the campaign has a ‘Booyaka Bundle’ prize draw on Sunday, June 30th. The prize pack includes an all-expenses paid experience for two (includes business class airfare, hotel accommodations and premium seats) to a live WWE event as Rey Mysterio’s personal guests.
The disorder has affected many children throughout the world, with approximately 700,000 autistic adults and children are in the UK and one in 58 kids in the United States are diagnosed. Rey Mysterio has seen the effects on families throughout the years as a wrestler and the luchador felt the need to take action with Fight4Autism. You can donate to the campaign by going here.
Fight4Autism is being launched on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Fight4Autism seeks to bring awareness to the increasing incidence of autism globally and raise funds for foundations working with children with autism.
“During my career, I have met many autistic children and their families. I’ve been deeply moved by the stories of the challenges that autism presents but heartened by the joy that wrestling brings them and in particular, Rey Mysterio.” said the luchador.
Mysterio has created this global fundraiser in his determination to help autistic children all over the world, no matter where they live. His mission is to have his fans join him in the fight. To do so, fans only need to donate US $4 via the website https://www.winwithrey.com/.
The proceeds from the fundraiser will be distributed to foundations working with children with autism in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico and more.
