WWE and Others Campaign For Bret Hart’s Inclusion in Canada’s Walk of Fame

2019 nominations for Canada’s Walk of Fame are now open, and many feel that time has come for the “Excellence of Execution” to take his place among his country’s greats. WWE posted an article on WWE.com supporting the nomination, highlighting his in-ring accolades as well as his legacy inspiring the name of the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League. They also talk about his philanthropy, becoming the spokesperson for March of Dimes Canada’s Stroke Recovery Canada Program.

In an opinion piece written for Daily Hive, former March of Dimes worker Ruth Kapelus agrees.

In the piece, Ruth talks about her own personal experiences with the “Hitman”, and how excited kids would be to meet their childhood hero. In the ten years that Ruth and Bret worked together at the charitable organization, Ruth states that Bret was a humanitarian who always made time for fans, no matter what time they had to be at their next appointment.
