Johnny Gargano Reportedly Working Through Knee Injury

It was noted in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer that NXT Champion Johnny Gargano has been working through a nagging knee injury. This is one of the main reasons that Gargano has been helping produce some of the Florida NXT house shows. Gargano is reportedly doing much better now but there is no official word when he will be wrestling a full time schedule again after the upcoming NXT TakeOver: XXV event.

The injury was said to have happened sometime in March and the last time Gargano worked a house show was March 8 in Dade City when he teamed with Matt Riddle to defeat Undisputed Era. Since that date he has worked two TV matches (April 10 vs. Roderick Strong & May 1 in a 6-man tag match). He also competed in NXT TakeOver: New York where he won the NXT Championship.

It should also be noted that after NXT TakeOver: XXV the plan for the NXT Championship is for the winner of Gargano/Cole to face Matt Riddle in Toronto.
