Report: Kevin Owens Informed WWE He Doesn’t Want To Go Back To Saudi Arabia

Kevin Owens may have had a recent heel turn on WWE television, but KO reportedly made a turn of his own backstage with WWE when it comes to Saudi Arabia.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Kevin Owens told WWE officials that he did not wish to go back to Saudi Arabia for it’s upcoming WWE Super ShowDown event in Jeddah. No official word or reasoning as to why KO made the decision, but it is important to note that Sami Zayn, Kevin Owen’s long-time friend, is of Syrian descent and Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Syria is extremely turbulent. Due to that, Sami Zayn has not been involved with any of WWE’s Saudi-based events.

Kevin Owens did appear at the first Saudi show which was The Greatest Royal Rumble, but was injured during the time that WWE Crown Jewel went down later in 2018. Owens could be following the suit of Daniel Bryan who infamously has refused to work Saudi shows after further learning of the ongoings in the country.
