MLW has announced that the finals for their inaugural Openweight National Championship is set for their Fury Road show in Milwaukee on June 1. It will be The Dynasty’s Alex Hammerstone against The Hart Foundation’s Brian Pillman Jr.
Pillman defeated Rich Swann in his semi-finals match while Hammerstone beat Gringo Loco to advance. The Dynasty has been involved in a heated feud with The Foundation and this will certainly be another chapter in the MLW book of rivalries. MLW’s full rundown is below:
The Hart Foundation-Dynasty rivalry just upped the ante with both Alex Hammerstone and Brian Pillman Jr. advancing to the finals of the National Openweight Championship tournament. Now, both men look to make history as they compete to become the inaugural National Champion on June 1.

The bad blood between Alex Hammerstone and Brian Pillman can be traced to a hideous moment this past spring in Chicago where Hammerstone humiliated Pillman and destroyed Teddy Hart’s gold chains as a wounded Pillman’s eyes swelled with tears.
Since this time, Pillman has sworn payback.
Now fate has put Hammerstone and Pillman on a collision course in a historic championship bout set to air on beIN SPORTS live at 9pm ET / 8pm CT on Saturday night June 1.
With Hammerstone soundly defeating Gringo Loco in semi-finals competition and Pillman punching his ticket to the finals with a competitive victory over Rich Swann, the two bitter enemies now fight over championship gold.
