Bully Ray: WWE’s Lack Of Mega Stars Is Why Ratings Are Dropping

WWE has been struggling with television ratings as of late and Bully Ray believes the issue is a lack of star power. While he praised many superstars on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, he said that WWE hasn’t produced mega stars like they relied on in the past.

“It’s because the WWE has set the bar so high when it comes to star power,” said Ray. “Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Triple H, Jericho, Brock Lesnar, Cena, these are mega stars. There are no mega stars right now and they are what always carried WWE. Right now we have stars but none of those mega stars. That is going to affect them going forward.”

Bully Ray went on to praise the match between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles, but said that neither are on the level of John Cena in terms of star power and that’s the problem. “People are over, and some people are really over. I don’t know if they have anyone that is really over. It’s not about one person anymore. It’s becoming about the WWE. You come to see the WWE. You used to come to see Cena, The Rock, Austin.”
