Alexa Bliss Not Medically Cleared, Pulled From WWE Money In The Bank

Alexa Bliss has been pulled from Sunday’s Money In The Bank women’s ladder match due to not being medically cleared to compete.

WWE made the breaking news announcement moments ago, posting the following statement:

Alexa Bliss is not medically cleared to compete at WWE Money In The Bank this Sunday, and has been removed from the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A suitable replacement for Alexa will be announced.

It’s worth noting Bliss was on this week’s WWE European tour, but did not wrestle. She was also scheduled for a Fatal 4 Way match on RAW this week, but was replaced at the last minute by Nikki Cross, with the on-air reason being Bliss’ lost luggage. Bliss was cleared for an in-ring return earlier this year after missing a three-month stretch due to concussion related issues.

Earlier this year, Bliss was interviewed by Lilian Garcia at Ace Comic Con in Arizona and detailed her injuries and how coming back too soon after one concussion caused more setbacks.

“I plan on coming back pretty soon. WWE is very careful when it comes to us with concussions and any injury and we have the best of the best taking care of us, and you have to go through concussion protocol.” Bliss said. “Everyone’s just being pre-cautious, which they should. It’s a brain; you only get one, can’t trade it off for another. I’ve been doing really well. I’ve been training at the Performance Center. I’m training in the ring there, so there’s definitely hope for me getting back in the ring relatively soon. It just depends on – it’s a brain, you can’t really tell it to heal. My MRIs and everything look good and neurologists say I look good – as long as I don’t have symptoms. That’s the thing: if you feel good and you know you’re good and you go in the ring and you have a symptom, you have to start all the way from square one.”

Garcia asked about what would be considered a symptom and Bliss replied, “If you get a headache or memory loss, something like that, but I’ve been good. I’ve been feeling good and hopefully sooner rather than later I’ll be doing Moment of Bliss and in the ring.”
