Kofi Kingston Gets His Revenge On Kevin Owens Ahead Of Title Match

After Kevin Owens opened SmackDown Live by challenging Kofi Kingston to a title match at Money in the Bank, he ended the night by hosting a very barebones version of the Kevin Owens Show. During the segment, Owens once again broke down why he wants to take the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston, calling Kingston unworthy and saying that he deserves to become the champion.

“I am the show and this is all I need. Before I was rudely interrupted earlier by Xavier Woods, which I’m sure he regrets doing now, I was trying to make a point,” he said. “What I said earlier is absolutely true. Kofi Kingston is in over his head. He’s drowning, but don’t worry. Help is on the way. I will relieve you of the burden you’ve been carrying around since WrestleMania. I am positive that at Money in the Bank that I will take the WWE title from you.”

While he initially invited Xavier Woods to come out on the show, he instead was forced to bring out an action figure version of Woods and Big E as his “guests,” although that was short-lived, as Kingston soon stepped out and charged the ring. As both of them duked it out in the ring, Kingston quickly overpowered Owens, tossing him out of the ring and forcing Owens to escape through the crowd.  As Owens fled, Kingston took to the ring and continued celebrating, setting up a stellar match at Money in the Bank.
