IMPACT Wrestling caught up with Gail Kim after she made her memorable return to the ring this past Sunday night at Rebellion to face Tessa Blanchard one on one. Kim went on to comment on what this return meant to her, why she did it and why she feels at ease at this being the end of her time as an in-ring competitor. Transcript and video are below:

“I’m such a mix of emotions. It was so much anxiety leading up to this moment and excitement and nerves and emotions and now it’s a little bit of relief and a little bit of sadness, but I’m so glad this came full circle and came here, in Toronto, in my hometown, in front of my family. And honestly, I didn’t do it just cause, I didn’t miss the in-ring, I did it for the opponent and Tessa Blanchard is the future, she is right now, actually and you know this was her moment and I’m glad that she had her moment with me. When I retired, I didn’t feel complete and I think a lot of people said, ‘You retired as champion,’ but that didn’t exactly sit well with me and so this feels right, this feels complete. I feel like I’m satisfied and I’m so satisfied with my career and how it ended in this moment right now.”
