Report: Lucha Bros To Soon Be Exclusive To AEW In United States

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported via the latest episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” with Garrett Gonzales that he’s hearing the Lucha Bros are soon to be exclusive to All Elite Wrestling in the United States.

According to Meltzer, Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are tying up their loose ends storyline-wise with other U.S.-based promotions and that’s because they are apparently going to be All Elite full-time and Meltzer has previously heard the same could be said for the two with AAA in Mexico. The full quote from WOR is below:

None of this is done, but everything I’m kind of hearing is that Fenix and Pentagona are soon going to be exclusive in the United States to AEW. I know that the deal that AEW and AAA were trying to make with Phoenix and Pentagon was to get them under contract where they would only work for AAA in Mexico and they would only work for AEW so that would get them out of The Crash [Lucha Libre] and out of CMLL and it would also mean IMPACT and also MLW. And I know that MLW was going under the idea that they’re finishing them up so this looked like maybe the same thing. That they’re finishing up [their time with IMPACT].

The Lucha Brothers just had a barn burner of a match in which they dropped the IMPACT Tag Titles with LAX last night at IMPACT Rebellion. In addition, Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are set to challenge The Young Bucks for the AAA Tag Team Championship at Double Or Nothing on May 25 when the company debuts its first headline event in Las Vegas.
