John Cena In Talks To Join ‘Suicide Squad’ Sequel

It looks like John Cena is gearing up to make his comic-book role debut. Variety reports that “The Leader Of The Cenation” is in talks to join the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad‘ sequel which is being written and directed by James Gunn. Cena would be joining co-stars Idris Elba and Margot Robbie. Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn, with Elba and Cena’s characters not yet being confirmed.

Elba was originally considered to play Deadshot, played by Will Smith in the 2016 original, but Warner Bros. decided to give him a new character instead. Jai Courtney will return as Boomerang. ‘Suicide Squad‘ had a massive box office run, grossing $746.8 million worldwide. The film starred Robbie, Smith, and Jared Leto. This would undoubtedly be one of the bigger roles of Cena’s career, along with his parts in ‘Blockers‘ and ‘Bumblebee.’

Some of Cena’s other upcoming projects include ‘The Janson Directive,’ ‘Playing With Fire,’ and voicing a character in Universal’s fantasy-adventure ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle‘ alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Selena Gomez.
