WWE SmackDown Live Results

This Week’s SmackDown Main Event Originally Was Different

There was some concern from fans regarding the main event of this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live. The New Day teamed up to defeat Drew McIntyre and The Bar in Six-Man Tag Team action. The New Day picked up the win after Kingston hit Sheamus with Trouble In Paradise for the three count. However, McIntyre left backstage in the middle of the match during a commercial break. Some thought this might have been due to injury.

As it turns out, this was actually planned as WWE doesn’t want fans to see McIntyre losing. In an update from PWInsider, it turns out the original main event planned for SmackDown on Tuesday was a singles match between Kingston and McIntyre. As the day progressed, the bout was changed into a Six-Man Tag. With that being said, there are no injury concerns for McIntyre after leaving the bout early. However, the same can’t be said for New Day member Big E.
