Pat McAfee Almost Quit WWE During WrestleMania 35 After Getting Yelled At By Michael Cole

Former professional football player and podcast host discussed his WrestleMania 35 experience during his latest show. During which he detailed how he nearly quit the WWE after an incident that occurred with Michael Cole.

According to McAfee, he was told by WWE to not arrive in “jorts,” and decided to show up in tuxedo shorts instead. As McAfee prepared to begin rehearsal for his job covering a portion of the kickoff show to WrestleMania 35, McAfee says that he was pulled into the production room and yelled at by Michael Cole.

McAfee goes on to say that Cole was mad about the shorts he was wearing, telling McAfee that he looked “sloppy,” “unprofessional,” and “terrible” in front of many of the McMahon family and some other folks. “This wasn’t like a rib or a gimmick, you could tell he was actually panicked,” said McAfee. McAfee detailed how angry he became, mentioning that he had been in the outfit for “10 hours” and that he then proceeded to grab his bag from the watch-along area and was ready to leave the entire venue.

Thankfully for the fans watching along and McAfee himself, things didn’t go that far along. McAfee said that the man running the digital portion of the watch-along pulled him into a room and then returned with Michael Cole. According to McAfee, he was told that Vince McMahon was shown a picture of LeBron James wearing a short suit and said that he was “hip” and that had seen tuxedo shorts and loved the suit. Soon after, McAfee said that Cole apologized to him and the two sorted things out, and things thankfully worked out for the best.
