After tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live, the latest episode of 205 Live took place. Things kicked off with a great match that saw Oney Lorcan making his 205 Live debut against Lucha House Party’s Kalisto. After making his surprise appearance at last weeks 205 Live, Lorcan was in a similarly angry mood, and started things off by delivering some savage hits to Kalisto. To his credit, Kalisto was able to keep things incredibly competitive, managing to break out of various submissions and pin attempts by Lorcan. Despite the hot start by Lorcan, Kalisto looked at times like he was going to pull off an upset, especially after landing an incredible Salida Del Sol on the outside of the ring. Unfortunately for Kalisto, however, Lorcan continued his rough assault throughout the fight, eventually landing a vicious half and half suplex on Kalisto that ended the fight.

Throughout the middle of Oney and Kalisto’s fight, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy made his way through the backstage area, looking for Tony Nese in an effort to find him ahead of their match at WrestleMania 35. Murphy found him as Nese was giving an interview, and the two proceeded to give fans a preview of their upcoming fight by duking it out behind the scenes. As the fight carried on, things actually spilled into the arena and right down the runway towards the ring. As security tried to pull them apart, Nese knocked down Murphy and delivered a swift running knee to the current champion, knocking him out and setting up a big showdown at WrestleMania 35.

The final match of the night saw Mike Kanellis taking on Akira Tozawa. With Kanellis’ wife Maria watching on, both superstars gave each other their best, with Mike and Akira both trading back and forth blows and incredible attacks on each other. For most of the match, Kanellis looked as if he had the match in the bag, but Tozawa was able to flip the script throughout, including a sequence in which Tozawa landed a missile dropkick and a vicious knee on Kanellis. With Maria screaming on, Kanellis was able to force the fight outside of the ring, dropping a neck breaker to Tozawa onto the mat outside and looking like he would walk away as the winner. After trading multiple kicks and punches, Kanellis was able to get Akira pinned down, but with Maria Kanellis interfering and causing chaos, Tozawa was able to quickly flip Kanellis over and pin him for a victory.
