AEW Signs UK Independent Wrestler Sadie Gibbs

Sadie Gibbs, a 26 year old independent wrestler hailing from the United Kingdom, is the most recent addition to the women’s division in All Elite Wrestling, Dave Meltzer reports on F4Wonline.com. Sadie is an athletic powerhouse, with experience in gymnastics, track and field, figure competitions, and Crossfit. She has had a few matches in OVW, but really made a name for herself on the UK independent scene and while touring for Stardom in late 2018 and early 2019.

There was a bit of controversy surrounding Sadie earlier in the year when Will Ospreay (in a since deleted) tweet said that he sent text messages to two women wrestling in Japan and that it wasn’t a vacation, and that he didn’t think they were “ready for it.” While she wasn’t named directly in the tweet, Sadie responded that she wasn’t trying to impress Ospreay, who then deleted the tweet. Amongst other vocal supporters, Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks went out of his way to tell Sadie that he thought she was “awesome,” an interesting conversation in hindsight considering Sadie now works for AEW!

The women’s division in AEW is really heating up, and it will be interesting to see where Sadie fits into the scene once AEW gets rolling with their Double or Nothing show in Las Vegas on May 25th, 2018!
