The New Day Contemplates Quitting WWE (Video), Cody Rhodes Files For Trademarks On Past JCP / WCW Matches

The New Day Contemplates Quitting WWE

Following last night’s setback, WWE posted a video showing The New Day talking about calling it quits due to Kofi Kingston continuously getting screwed over in recent weeks.

Xavier Woods said he’s not even surprised, adding “of course Vince brought somebody else to fight you, because there was never any chance for you to actually win!”

Big E tried to encourage Kofi and tell him to keep punching through the glass ceiling again and again, but Woods notes that Kofi has put it all on the line for eleven years without anything given back. Both say they should quit WWE because Vince McMahon has shown how high they will ever go, and this is an example of them not being able to ‘beat the house.’

Kofi says he has done everything the right way and he keeps climbing mountains, but they can’t quit because then Vince and Daniel Bryan would win. Kofi says cooler heads need to prevail, but Woods says if wrestling doesn’t love him back, he can’t be here anymore.

Cody Rhodes Files For Trademarks On Past JCP / WCW Matches

According to PWInsider.com, Cody Rhodes has applied to trademark “Prince of Wrestling”, “Battlebowl”, “Bash at the Beach”, and “Bunkhouse Stampede” on March 18th.

Fans will note the Bunkhouse Stampede was a match concept created by his father Dusty Rhodes, as was the Battle Bowl match before it was turned into a PPV event featuring the match. The report noted none of the titles had been trademarked before; the latter three names were filed for: “good and services, specifically, ‘Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of a wrestling club; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services.’”
