Charlotte Flair Says Intergender Wrestling Gets ‘Cheap Reaction,’ Triple H Finds It ‘Baffling’

Triple H and Charlotte Flair were both guests at SXSW 2019 and the pair were asked about a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling: intergender matches. However, those hoping to see men and women mix things up inside a WWE ring will be disappointed by the responses.

Charlotte Flair showed no interest in it. “I could care less about wrestling men,” said the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion via 411 Wrestling. “Because I think that it’s harder to tell a story when it’s female talent vs. female talent. Yeah, you can get a cheap reaction wrestling a guy, ‘Oh, I slapped him’ or he hits me, but that’s not hard. That’s not entertaining. That’s an easy reaction versus having to tell a good story.”

Meanwhile, Triple H’s stance hasn’t changed from when he spoke about the issue before. He insists that the demand for it is “baffling” to him. “Why does inter-gender need to happen?” asked the WWE exec. “Because the women aren’t good enough to have their own thing going on and to compete against themselves, and dominate, and win, and main event, and put on better performances — they need a guy to do that?”
